Who we are

What is Eden Church?

Eden Church exists to form a community shaped by Christ’s care for people and places across New Jersey. We are a church rooted in real stories, real neighborhoods, and a real belief that Jesus reigns here. Eden is not built around performance or perfection, but around presence, faithfulness, and care.

Pastor Brandon and his wife Malia founded Eden Church in August 2023. After being arrested in Harlem 15 years ago, Brandon began a journey of change that would reshape the direction of his life. He soon responded to an altar call at a Community Baptist Church in Englewood, NJ. In that moment, Brandon experienced the grace of God in a deeply personal way — a grace that met him exactly where he was and called him forward.

From that point on, Brandon’s desire and ability to care for all kinds of people in New Jersey grew. What began as personal transformation became a calling to serve, love, and shepherd others. Over the next decade, Brandon and Malia intentionally prepared for ministry — spiritually, relationally, and practically — with a clear sense that God was forming something rooted in care for the Garden State. That long season of preparation eventually gave birth to a community we now call Eden.

Why call it “Eden?”

Eden reflects both the Garden State we call home and the biblical vision of renewal God is still bringing to the world. We believe God is not taking us backward, but faithfully moving us forward into life shaped by His reign.

Our Vision

In New Jersey as it is in New Jerusalem

Eden Church exists with a clear vision: that God’s kingdom would be made visible in New Jersey. “In New Jersey as it is in New Jerusalem” reflects our belief that Jesus reigns here and that His restoring work is not distant or abstract, but present and active in the places we live, work, and worship.
An Edenic Vision for the Garden State

We believe God desires to cultivate renewal, beauty, and life right here in New Jersey, just as He intended from the beginning.

Crowning the Garden State with the care of Christ

Eden Church exists to crown the Garden State with the care of Christ. Our mission shapes how we love people, serve our neighbors, and build a community rooted in the way Jesus cares for the world. Every gathering, group, and act of service flows from this calling to reflect Christ’s care across New Jersey.

Our Motto

We Take Care of Jersey

Our motto is both a declaration and a daily practice. “We Take Care of Jersey” is how Eden lives out faith in real places, with real people, across the Garden State. It is a commitment to show up, stay rooted, and participate in God’s work right where we live.

Our Values

The biblical practices we live by

CHRIST is central

The core value. Claiming Jesus Christ as Lord is more than a dogma to be peddled; it is a life to be lived (Ephesians 5:23). At Eden, everything begins and ends with Christ.

Jesus is alive. That means we can be authentically connected with God, His people, and His purposes in our lives (Romans 8:17; Acts 2:42–47). We believe real relationships are essential to spiritual growth.

Jesus loves Jersey. Eden Church exists to crown the Garden State with the care of Christ (1 Peter 5:7; Jeremiah 32:41). Care is not optional — it is central to who we are.

We are here to nurture your faith. Eden Church is committed to growing the Garden of God in the Garden State by helping people mature spiritually and follow Christ faithfully (2 Timothy 3:14–17; 1 Corinthians 11:1).

Our Beliefs

The biblical principles we stand on

Our Beliefs are the biblical principles we stand on. Eden Church is committed to an orthodox, Reformed, confessional expression of Christianity. We unashamedly uphold the Apostles’ Creed, subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith, and pledge the Lausanne Covenant.

These historic confessions guide our theology, anchor our teaching, and help ensure that Eden remains faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Partners

Eden Church is proud to be an Orchard Group Church. Orchard Group has been starting new churches in Greater NYC since 1948 and has played a vital role in supporting healthy, gospel-centered church plants.

Eden also belongs to the Strategic Launch Network. In addition, over a dozen churches throughout the United States prayerfully commissioned Eden Church at its launch. These partnerships provide spiritual covering, accountability, and shared mission as Eden continues to grow.
